The founder of Eastern Pearl, Tina Chen initiated a bold business venture in 1994 when the local jewellery market was in dire need of competitive prices and dynamic service provision in the pearl industry. The specific market demand sculpted a model incorporating the concept of supplying pearls at the lowest cost and providing re-threading service that were conveniently completed within on day. Her pervading philosophy was to cater to the vast influx of demand from the retail sector of the market.
Philosophy
From modest beginnings as a supplier of affordable Chinese pearls to the local market, Eastern Pearl has further invested and strengthened its resource capacity to include authentic Japanese Akoya and Australian South Sea pearls over the years. Currently carrying a range comprising pearls, gold, silver, gemstones and diamond jewellery, Eastern Pearl retain the capacity to compete at the highest level within the wholesale market.
The company remains faithful to its foundation and maintains its philosophy to keep prices competitive and provide valuable services despite its aggressive expansion policies.
Since the company’s inception in Sydney, it has pioneered an effective national business model to distribute diverse and quality pearls while also providing retailers with reliable support services across Australia obtaining a client network portfolio of more than 3000 retailers.
